David Gerstein was born in Jerusalem in 1944. From 1965 to 1970, he studied art in various cities such as Jerusalem, Paris, New York and London. Metal quickly became his favorite material and he made it his trademark. In his multi-layered sculptures in particular, he succeeds very well in combining two-dimensional painting and the characteristics of three-dimensional sculpture. Gerstein sets accents with vivid colors. One of the central themes is the human being. The artist no longer only focuses on movement, but also on nature and urbanity.
