1934 Born in Tahoka, Texas
1962 Felix Landau – one of the most influential gallery owners in the USA takes Gill under contract for 10 years and organizes numerous exhibitions.
1967 Andy Warhol, James Gill and other Pop Art artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Tom Wesselmann exhibited together at the Sao Paulo 9 Exhibition.
In 1972, Gill withdrew to a self-imposed exile in California in order to further develop his artistic forms of expression without being exposed to the constraints of the material world.
Since 1997, he has been celebrating his comeback and presenting his works in international galleries, private collections and museums.
